Prem Watsa recently gave a talk at the University of Waterloo about some of Fairfax Financial’s guiding principles in terms of organizing and managing its subsidiaries. A focus on the long term and sticking to principles of honesty and fairness are the keys to business success, Prem Watsa, chief executive of Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., said yesterday in Waterloo. Watsa will become the University of Waterloo’s ninth chancellor on May 1. He will succeed Research In Motion co-founder Mike Lazaridis.
