Recently I linked to several articles which are quite critical of Nassim Taleb. Now its time to post some positive content .

The following video was linked on the Farnam Street blog. (Great job FS)

  1. Daniel M. Ryan Says:

Talleb’s idea about equity takebacks sounds good, but I don’t know how feasible it would be. The idea of owning part of a home has never really caught on, and I don’t know if selling part of a home has even been pushed. If the banks take equity in homes in return for lowering mortgage payments, at least one of the parties is going to treat the home as if it were all theirs. Minority stakes are likely to be unmarketable.

It might be a fix for now, but it would spark a lot of wrangles in the future. We’re too emotionally attached to our homes, and that groundedness would have to be thrown out the window in order for his idea to work wide-scale.

[I guess Taleb wil never escape criticism...]
